Young people join forces for bottom-up sustainability

Over the past few weeks, several groups of students at universities across Europe have been working on communication strategies for the challenge "Young people live sustainably", via the INDUSAC platform. Two groups have now published their reports on the open access platform ZENODO. They came up with concrete suggestions on how existing initiatives in which young people are committed to sustainability can join forces: in Utrecht, but also
internationally with youth organisations in Brazil, Thailand and the Philippines, for example.
The municipality of Utrecht is working the transition to a smart, sustainable city by 2050. How do we ensure that everyone can participate, and that this transition will be socially just? On 8 May, participants in the workshop 'Smart, sustainable and social Utrecht in Europe' empathised with desirable and undesirable scenarios.
Also in the past month, Lunetters have submitted new recipes for the cookbook 'Sustainable food on a budget in Lunetten', and during a dinner at Bij Bosshardt on Kanaleneiland, students Anna and Veronica presented their ideas for a Clover Box with which U-pas holders could buy organic food at a discount.
In the coming period, we will offer more opportunities to young people who want to do a study assignment or internship at Duurzaam Utrecht 2030.
