Will smart sustainable Utrecht be social by 2050?
Join the workshop 'Smart, sustainable and social Utrecht in Europe' on 8 May 2025

The municipality of Utrecht is one of 100+ smart, sustainable cities, which are ahead of the European Green Deal, with the ambition to be climate neutral by 2025. But how do we ensure that no one is left behind, and that Utrechters with a small budget can also live more sustainably in their own way?
During the workshop, we move to the election campaign for the city council in the year 2048. Representatives of different parties visit voter groups to recruit votes. Everyone has their own ideas about the opportunities and threats of smart systems such as cookbook apps or drones. Play along and then enter into a dialogue about the desirable and undesirable use of AI and digitalisation for the sustainable and socially just climate transition.
Join the discussion during the workshop 'Smart, sustainable and social Utrecht in Europe' on Thursday afternoon, 8 May 2025, from 14.30 -17.00 in the House of Active Citizenship, in the Neude Library, Utrecht. Doors open from 14.00 hrs. Participation is free, after registration via this form.
