Buy a product, give a product
Do you like to buy organic or sustainable vegetables, fruit and other food? Do you also want to give your neighbors with a tight budget such healthy and environmentally friendly food? With our 'buy a product, give a product' campaign, you can easily pay a little more for your groceries, with which the shopkeeper can give clients of the food bank or U-pas holders a gift voucher. With this, they can choose their own affordable organic and healthy food. Around Sint Maarten, 2024, we have tried out this campaign together with Moestuin Maarschalkerweerd. On 10 December, 2024, Julia Wesselink and Elliot Donohadi pitched our campaign during the LIFT! 2024 pitch night in Club Raum, Leidsche Rijn. Download the report here.
Are you a retailer and would you like to ask your customers to pay extra for coupons that allow local residents with a small budget to buy organic food? Or do you have another question or tip? Mail ineke@duurzaamutrecht2030.nl
Clover Box
In the Da Vinci project in the autumn of 2024, students from Utrecht University developed a prototype for a 'Clover Box' that allows U-pas holders to buy organic food at a discount, thanks to sponsorship from companies that advertise this Clover Box. The users can choose which products they want to buy with this Clover Box. This poster gives an outline of how it can work.
During a dinner at Bij Bosshardt on Kanaleneiland on 21 May 2025, students Anna and Veronica presented their ideas for such a Clover Box. The Doen en Laten foundation had prepared a vegetarian meal with organic ingredients subsidized by Utrecht University.
In the coming period, we will weave together and further develop the prototype of the Clover Box and the 'Buy a product, give a product' campaign. Please contact ineke@duurzaamutrecht2030.nl if you would like to participate or learn more.
